9:44 am - UPDATED: Closed Captioning apparently had the lyrics beforehand

This post is to share what you heard Ed sing last night on the Tonight Show. See my previous post to see a video of the performance. LJ-cut to not pollute what you hear with what CC showed. Please post what your interpretation of his mumbling is in the comments!

5:18 am - If you need it...

Pearl Jam perform a brand new song on the Tonight Show!

Also confirmed last night is the title of the new album, Backspacer. The album art shown, however, is just concept art, and may or may not be final. The album is tenatively scheduled for a September 22nd 2009 release date.

There's no confirmed name for the song, but I'd assume it's called Got Some or some variation on that. Video included in the link, hopefully it's still up later today.

There ARE some mistaken people out there calling this one "The Fixer", but that's just the title of a song PJ played for a Target commercial that may or may not be a Target exclusive when the album is released.

PJ manager Kelly Curtis has confirmed that the band will be self-releasing Backspacer, and will focus on releasing the album with Target, "an online retailer, a mobile partner, a gaming company and with a network or pissibly networks of indie retail stores."
The first single is expected to be released next month (July. Yes, it's June already.)

8:04 am - X-mas single

I got my Xmas single late last week, and I won't spoil what songs are on it, but has anyone transferred the vinyl to digital/mp3? I'm sans turntable, so I'd be very appreciative for the songs!

8:02 am - PJ to headline Conan O'Brien's first Tonight Show

Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam will be Conan's first guests on June 1st.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam will be part of Conan O'Brien's first "Tonight Show."
Ferrell joined O'Brien in February for his final "Late Night" show in New York. Now the actor-comedian will help O'Brien kick off his tenure on "Tonight" in Los Angeles.
Pearl Jam will be the first band on O'Brien's show, playing songs from an upcoming studio album, NBC said Monday.
O'Brien takes over the late-night show on June 1, after Jay Leno wraps up his 17-year run as "Tonight" host on May 29. Leno is moving to a daily prime-time series for NBC in the fall.

1:01 pm - Box set or just the reissue?

What would you buy?  I really don't have the money to buy the box set, but it looks AWESOME.  I'm going to have to get a USB compatible record player, to transfer the vinyl and some of the 45s I've gotten over the years, from the Ten Club.

9:59 pm - 10 Redux

So did anyone else order their copy of the remixed 10 and get it yet? I ordered the collector's edition box set and just got it today. Got the text at work and had to try and contain myself for the next 5 hours til I could come home and check it out.

All in all I'm more then pleased with both the set in it's entirety, as well as the redux version. I've listened to about half the main album (on Black atm) and I'm very happy with how it's been done. Only subtle changes but just enough to bring a whole new feel to the album. It's not quite as raw as the original, which is both good and bad, but I'm leaning more toward the better so far. Just the few small things, adding a bit of reverb here, doubling up the vocals here...it just adds an entire new level I think.

So has anyone else had the chance to check it out yet? I'd love to hear what you all have to say.

**Edit** and the remixed lead riff at the end of Porch (starting around 2:45 or so) is just plain amazing. I really do like this version of the album a whole lot.

Hey guys,

I'm in need of some help from Pearl Jam fans. I have a campus radio show that runs 3-4 hours/week and this semester I'm doing a Pearl Jam related show called "Lukin'". All my shows will center around Pearl Jam, their solo projects, side-projects, Pearl Jam covers by other bands, etc.

What I'm looking for are "Fan Dream Set Lists"...the songs that would make your perfect Pearl Jam concert. I'm going to dedicate at least one show a week to this and play the lists given to me by fans. If you're interested in helping me out can you reply to this entry?

So I'm trying to get rid of tons of my stuff, and I have Pearl Jam fan club newsletters back to 1994. Do you think I'd regret getting rid of these? Or do you think it's silly I still have them!?

Be honest - but not mean :)

Any ideas where I could find a sweet but cheap women's Pearl Jam shirt? It doesn't have to be authentic from a concert or anything- just something to express my love.

I just found this while poking around on Last.fm.

"Our five fathers who art in Seattle, Rockin be thy way.
Thy setlist done and shall kick bum, on stage as it has in studio.
Give us this day our daily boots and forgive us our other musical tastes as we forgive those who force other music upon us.
For thine is the Cameron and the Gossard and McCready.
For Vedder is better.

7:52 pm - Shows cancelled by lightning?

Has anyone been to a show at an amphitheater, where lightning made the venue evacuate...therefore canceling the show?

I know that the Meadows in Hartford, does a show, rain or shine. But, would they do one during a lightning storm? I don't think it would be good for the fans, the band, or their equipment.

This is an insanely long shot but I'm putting it out there...

Looking (desperately) for a ticket for MSG Night 2. If anyone has an extra, you'll make my LIFE by selling  it to me.

Cheers all :)

Hi people.

Someone bailed on me so I have one extra lawn ticket for next Friday's Camden show (June 20). Selling it for face value, of course, and if you'd like me to overnight or fedex it or something we can work out something on postage. Otherwise I guess will-call is the thing to do.

If interested shoot me an email: hinx1218 [at] gmail [dot] com.

Just heard a commercial on tv for standup2cancer.org and he's playing a Uke in the background and singing a bit.. badass that he was becoming more supportive of new and great organizations publicly!!
